Luckily, ketchup is one of the easiest things you can make yourself. Plus tomato paste is super high in antioxidants, so my version of ketchup is actually good for you. The whole process will take about 15 minutes if you're a slow-poke like me, and that's including the time it takes to move the spices in and out of your spice drawer. So whip up a batch next time you got potatoes baking or something.
1 (6 oz.) can of organic tomato paste (make sure the can is BPA-free)
1 Tbsp flaxseed oil (optional, adds some calories. You can add more if you want)
1/2 cup water
3 Tbsp raw organic apple cider vinegar
~1/32 tsp of stevia leaf powder (in other words, a pinch. Don't overdo it or you'll be sorry. Add more to taste. Also tastes fine without it)
1/2+ tsp of sea salt or Himalayan salt
1/4 tsp of each: cumin, mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder
A pinch of cinnamon and cayenne (optional)
1) Get an empty container, like an old 13 oz. jam jar, and mix the ingredients together.
2) Eat or refrigerate.
3) BAM! Done.
